We offer a variety of snacks, but fried and grilled dishes are popular regardless of whether they are meat or fish. In this issue, we will introduce a seared menu using the freshest seasonal fish. Please enjoy it with beer, sake, or shochu.
Satsuma-age, a classic snack, is quickly seared. Searing not only gives it a savory smell, but also makes its surface texture a little crispy. As a Kagoshima specialty, why not try it with a glass of Kyushu shochu? It is delicious eaten as is or with a little mayonnaise.
It is probably more rare to find an izakaya that serves fish that does not have hokke. HOKKE is such a standard snack, and of course there is a good reason why it is such a staple. Hokke is a fatty and flaky fish that goes very well with sake.
This squid is grilled with a rich sweet and spicy sauce that reminds one of grilled squid from a festival stall. The bouncy texture is irresistible. It is usually served with mayonnaise, but it is also delicious with a squeeze of lemon to accentuate the flavor.
