What is Imojochu?

sweet potato shochu (distilled liquor)is a type of B. Its raw material is sweet potato.

On the other hand, there are those who do not like the tartness of potato shochu, and it is not generally recommended for beginners. In terms of drinkability, barley shochu is by far the best choice.
 

Our recommended potato shochu


sea Made in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a very easy-drinking sweetpotato shochu and is recommended for beginners. It does not have a distinctive bad taste, and you can taste the subtle sweetness of the sweet potatoes used to make it. It is also popular among women.
Kurokirishima Produced in Miyazaki Prefecture. This potato shochu is made with black koji and is relatively easy to drink. It is a well-known brand, so many people probably know it. It is recommended for those who want to enjoy sweetpotato shochu liqueur.
giant elephant ear (species of taro, Colocasia gigantea) Produced in Kagoshima Prefecture. On the contrary, it is a sweetpotato shochu liqueur with excellent sweetpotato shochu-like characteristics. It is rich and has a strong sweetness and aroma which is typical of sweetpotato. If you are not used to it, you may be surprised.
Tominohozan Made in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a potato shochu made with yellow koji. It is fruity and not like a sweetpotato shochu liqueur. It will be easy to drink with a sharp taste.
