Shochu is an intoxicating drink for people of all ages and genders.
Here is an introduction to types of shochu other than potato shochu.
 

Types of Shochu


The most famous are potato shochu, rice shochu, and barley shochu, but many other types of shochu exist.
Other shochu are sometimes collectively referred to as variant shochu.
rice shochuis made from rice, so its taste and aroma are somewhat similar to sake, which is also made from rice.
Of course, sake is a brewed liquor and shochu is a distilled liquor, so they are completely different drinks.
The characteristic ginjo aroma of sake can also be found in rice shochu.
barley shochuis made from barley, which is said to be an easy-to-drink type of shochu with little flavor.
If beginners are unsure which type of shochu to drink, barley shochu is by far the best choice.
 

Our special shochu


River of God (Kannoko) Made in Kagoshima Prefecture. This barley shochu has been aged for more than three years, which gives it a mellower taste. It is very easy to drink and even beginners can enjoy it.
Shiro (white mountain) Produced in Kumamoto Prefecture. Rice shochu. The ginjo aroma is subdued, but you can taste the slight sweetness of the rice. It is made to be a shochu that goes well with food, and is perfect for any dish.
referent Produced in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a brown sugar shochu. Because it is made from brown sugar, you may think it is very sweet, but it is not. It is not so sweet because it is made from brown sugar, but it is easy to drink.
