Introducing our signature "Shochu" menu! Also, the key to drinking it well! | Rakuzo Utage Matsumoto Ekimae Branch

Hello. I am the PR person in charge of the Matsumoto Ekimae branch of Rakuzo Utage.

Our restaurant is proud of its cuisine, which uses an abundance of seafood from the sea and mountains. What makes our dishes 120% more delicious is the wide variety of drinks on our menu. Our drink menu includes many standard drinks such as beer, sours, and whiskey, but we are particularly particular about our shochu (distilled spirit) menu!

Today, we would like to introduce our shochu menu, which we are very proud of. We will also introduce some tips on how to drink it well.

We have sweet potato, barley, and rice! We are proud of our shochu lineup!

We are proud to introduce our shochu lineup.

The main types of shochu are sweet potato, barley, and rice. We offer not only these, but also brown sugar and awamori.

potato

It is characterized by a slight sweetness that is like a baked sweet potato. We offer such potato shochu brands as "Kin Kuro," "Kurokirishima," "Umi," "Ikkokuja," "Mitake," and "Tominohozan. We recommend Tominohozan, which has a refreshing citrus aroma and a sharp taste.

wheat

A barley shochu with a characteristic fruity taste. We have "Ichibanfuda" and "Enma". We recommend Ichibanfuda. It has a clean and refreshing taste that goes well with any dishes.

meter (i.e. a gauge)

Rice shochu has a sweetness and aroma unique to rice. We offer "Hakudake Shiro," which boasts outstanding transparency.

We also offer "Rento" for brown sugar and "Zanba Black" for Awamori.

Consider the order in which you drink it and how it goes with your food.

Here are some tips to make such shochu more delicious.

For example, when drinking various types of shochu, start with the lightest flavor possible and drink the darker ones later. Drink sweetpotato after rice or barley. You can also drink shochu on the rocks after sodas or mizuwari. In this way, you will be able to taste each flavor more easily.

Also, eat dishes together that match each type of shochu. For potato shochu, dishes with a strong flavor that is as strong as the potato shochu, and for rice shochu, fish dishes are excellent companions.

The above is an introduction to the different types of shochu and an explanation of how to drink it deliciously. Please feel free to contact our staff for suggestions on how to drink it well!
