Three recommended dishes for hot summer! | Rakuzo Okayama Honmachi

Hello, I am the PR person in charge of Rakuzo Okayama Honmachi Store.

The hot days are continuing, but it is precisely because it is summer season that some foods are in season and more delicious than others.

In this issue, we would like to introduce three seasonal dishes that we recommend using these ingredients!

Grilled corn Grilled corn with charred soy sauce
Pork and Tofu Goya Chanpuru (Bitter Gourd Chanpuru)
Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Grilled! Grilled corn with charred soy sauce

Corn becomes sweeter and tastier in mid-summer, when its sugar content increases.

Although this grain is high in carbohydrates, it is also rich in vitamins and minerals, making it more suitable for dieting and health maintenance than other grains.

Corn can be used in a wide variety of soups and side dishes, but we cook it with the husk to concentrate its flavor and sweetness!

The flavor is further enhanced by seasoning it with burnt soy sauce.
*We will cut it into bite-size pieces when serving.

Goya Chanpuru (fried pork and tofu with bitter gourd)

Goya is a familiar name in Okinawa, but it is at its most delicious and more nutritious in summer when it is in season.

When you eat bitter melon, you will feel a unique bitter taste, but this bitter component actually has a beneficial effect on the body because it protects the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines and also makes the nerves feel refreshed.

Because it is very compatible with oil, our restaurant offers a refreshing goya chanpuru (bitter melon stir-fry) that can be tossed with meat and served with tofu.

Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Blueberries are in season in summer and grow to a deep blue-purple color.

Blueberries are often said to be good for the eyes because their blue-purple component, anthocyanin, is said to improve visual function and prevent vision loss.

The sweet and sour taste of this fruit fills the mouth, but we have made it light and refreshing by mixing blueberry sauce cookies with cream cheese-filled ice cream.

We have other recommended dishes using summer ingredients, so please enjoy them with delicious drinks at our restaurant!
