Hello, I am the PR person in charge of Rakuzo Omiya Higashiguchi Ekimae Store.

Many people drink shochu exclusively as their regular alcoholic beverage.

I, too, have been drinking shochu mixed with hot water in the cold winter since the beginning.

If you are not a fan of the strong aroma of shochu when hot water is added, some people enjoy it with water by adding ice or other ingredients.

So, we explored ways to enjoy shochu.

 

Recommendations on how to order shochu

Goku-Imo: A sweet potato shochu made by Shirogane Shuzo, this shochu is a perfect blend of white and black malted rice, Kogane-Sengan and Naruto Kintoki, respectively. Shirogane Shuzo's "Polished Imo Brewing" is the method that produces the flavor and richness of this shochu.

Kurokirishima: Kirishima Shuzo's sweet potato shochu is made with black malted rice and sweet potato and rice koji. 90 years old and well-loved, this sweet potato shochu has a thick, sweet texture with a dry aftertaste and a sweet potato aroma that enhances its flavor.

Ikkomon: This shochu is made from pure 100% sweetpotato, using only sweetpotato and sweetpotato malted rice. It is an elegant potato shochu with a sweet aroma of sweet potato and a clean aftertaste.

Mitake: This shochu is produced by the Mitake Shuzo brewery in Kagoshima Prefecture. This shochu is made from sweet potatoes grown in Kagoshima Prefecture and its famous water. It is a refreshing sweet potato shochu with a nostalgic sweet potato shochu flavor.

Nanjakanja: A rice shochu made from rice and rice koji, using 100% underground water from Aso. It has a slight aroma of ginjo and a clean, crisp taste.

Umi: The sweet potato shochu produced by the Omi Shuzo brewery is easy to drink, even for beginners. It is made from beniotome and yellow malted rice, domestic rice, and rice koji. Its flavor is an impressive potato shochu with sweetness and aroma without any peculiarities or cloying taste.

Tominohozan: This sweet potato shochu is produced by Nishi Shuzo in Kagoshima Prefecture. The raw material, Kogane-Sengan, is produced by contracting farmers and using organic fertilizers. This potato shochu is made from Kogane-Sengan, Takara Meisui, and yellow malted rice. It is an elegant sweet potato shochu with a soft taste, gentle sweetness, and a refreshing aroma.
