Some people say that nabe is good, but they look forward to the zosui (rice with various ingredients in a delicious broth) as the final dish, which is a unique winter dish. Zosui served with seasonal special nabe is especially popular because it is different from the usual zosui.
Hakyu is popular as a ramen soup, but it is also great as zosui (rice porridge), soaking up every grain of rice. In the winter-only "chicken hot pot with tteokbokki and potatoes," the potatoes and tteokbokki thicken the soup, making it an even more rewarding dish.
Duck is very popular as a nabe ingredient because of its umami and sweetness, but it is also well known as an ingredient that gives the soup a deeper flavor. Because it is seared once, the duck, which sometimes tends to be fatty, has a light and elegant flavor.
Udon noodles are also a delicious way to finish the meal instead of rice. Udon noodles, simmered well and soaked thoroughly, warm you from the inside out. Recently, however, ramen is also popular. Of course, shiranyu soup goes well with ramen, but you can also make a light, modern Japanese-style ramen with kamonabe (duck pot) soup.
