Among the many foods that are in season in summer, I would like to recommend hamo (pike conger) and unagi (eel). Both are long, thin fish, but they have very different tastes, don't they? Many of you may be fond of eel, which is known as a stamina food in summer. In the "Season's Recommendation" menu, which is available only during the summer season, we offer "broiled eel skewers2The "Hon" is now available. The carefully grilled eel is fluffy and very tender. The thick meat makes it very satisfying. The fat is so rich that you can't stop drinking beer, shochu, or sake. For a refreshing taste, we recommend a glass of lemon sour.
Hamo (conger eel) is a popular summer food, and its refined and hearty flavor is hard to imagine from its appearance. We have deep-fried fresh, live hamo (conger eel) and served it with "hamo cutlet with plum paste, grated ponzu sauce, and sansho salt". The delicious, fluffy hamo meat peeks out from the crispy batter. It is served with a refreshing grated plum paste. Please add sansho (Japanese pepper) salt to taste to change the flavor.
Eel and pike conger have different tastes, and you may have a hard time deciding which one to order. We recommend that you order both and enjoy the comparison.
