The best barley shochu in terms of drinkability


Shochu can be broadly categorized into potato, barley, rice, and other types, of which barley shochu is said to be the easiest to drink.
Compared to potato shochu, which has a strong flavor, or rice shochu, which is thicker, even beginners will be able to drink it easily.
Barley shochu is made from barley. If you think of barley malt brew as beer, it is a little easier to imagine the taste.
Although barley shochu is a distilled spirit, it has little flavor or aroma, and it is easy to drink when mixed with water or hot water.
 

Recommended Barley Shochu

River of God (Kannoko) Made in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a long-aged shochu liqueur that has been kept in oak casks for more than three years. Aged syochu liqueur has a mellower and deeper taste. It is originally an easy-drinking barley syochu liqueur, but this one is surprisingly easy to drink.
Yama (king of the world of the dead, who judges the dead) Made in Oita Prefecture. You may be surprised by the frightening red letters dancing on the shochu belt, but to our surprise, this barley shochu is easy to drink. You can fully enjoy the unique aroma of barley.
