How are you all doing? It is the time of year when we have more opportunities to drink alcoholic beverages, such as welcome and farewell parties and cherry blossom viewing. I am sure that many of you have regretted having "drank too much" or "got drunk too badly" at a party. Since we are enjoying drinking, wouldn't you like to try a countermeasure that will help you finish your drinking session in a pleasant way?
Today, we would like to introduce you to some dishes that are good to eat with alcohol to prevent hangover or when consuming alcohol.
Cold tofu covered with condiments - 490 yen (tax not included)
Some people take measures by drinking turmeric or nutritional drinks before drinking, but yogurt and milk are also recommended. The fat content in dairy products serves to coat the stomach and can be expected to slow down the absorption of alcohol.
Edamame - 450 yen (excluding tax)
When enjoying alcoholic beverages, we ask that you be mindful of the pace at which you drink, but there are also measures you can take while you are drinking.
The first is to eat edamame. It is well-known as a standard izakaya menu item, but it is rich in vitamins and contains methionine, an ingredient that helps the liver function.
And the second method I would recommend is to take water in between. This is a quick and easy measure that anyone can take. Alcohol consumption can easily cause dehydration due to its diuretic effect. Rather than forcing yourself to continue drinking alcohol, it is better to drink alcohol while also drinking water to keep yourself hydrated and sober, so that you can smartly enjoy your alcoholic beverage to the end.
