Our famous yakitori is popular worldwide.

Hello, this is Rakuzo Utage Yurakucho. This is Rakuzo Utage Yurakucho.

Yakitori, a Japanese cultural food, is popular all over the world as a delicious food.

Many people can eat "chicken" even if they are religious, so when I dine with my foreign friends, they often ask for "delicious yakitori" (grilled chicken).

Naturally, my Japanese friends often order "yakitori" as it is a great snack and the low-calorie chicken meat makes it healthy and guilt-free.

History of Yakitori

In the past, a long time ago, a "meat ban" was issued in 676 because chickens were a substitute for clocks that told the time.

Buddhism was originally a "vegetarian" culture that did not eat meat, so this decree may have been based on that culture.

However, wild birds, deer, and wild boars were allowed to eat.

Yakitori" was commonly sold on the approach to shrines during the Edo period.

For the Japanese, an agrarian people, the "sparrow," which interfered with rice cultivation, was the main meat used for yakitori.

Until the postwar period and elsewhere, sparrows were eaten.

It is said that yakitoriya stalls probably came into existence around the Meiji period (1868-1912).

In those days, there were also "gamecock" and other entrails that were skewered and grilled.

Looking back through time, it is clear that yakitori has been eaten as an integral part of Japanese people's lives and culture.

Our recommended Yakitori

The restaurant offers more than 11 kinds of yakitori, which are popular as snacks at any given time, in both tare (sauce) and shio (salt) flavors.
