The \"Taketsuru Pure Malt\" was newly added to the lineup in 2013, prior to the discontinuation of the \"Taketsuru 12 Year Old Pure Malt\" in March 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>What kind of whisky is Taketsuru Pure Malt?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In contrast to blended whisky, which is generally considered light and easy to drink, pure malt whisky is said to be a heavy drink with character. Taketsuru Pure Malt was created with the aim of making pure malt whiskey as easy to drink as blended whiskey, while retaining the unique character of pure malt whiskey.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>About Masataka Chiketsuru<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The man behind the name of this Taketsuru Pure Malt is Masataka Taketsuru. In 1918, at the age of 24, Masataka Taketsuru went alone to Scotland, the home of Scotch whisky, to learn the art of whisky making.
